In 2013, AT&T provided lead funding to help expand Red Cross online volunteer training options nationwide. Over 1,000 AT&T employees and retirees, through a pilot training, in Dallas, New Jersey and Atlanta had the opportunity in to use mobile and other digital devices to remotely preview disaster relief training courses of interest.
AT&T Pioneers is excited to take this initiative forward. This initiative encourages AT&T employees and retirees to register to become volunteers with the American Red Cross.
Volunteers at the American Red Cross perform a broad variety of activities; there is something to suit most interests and experience levels and availability, whether feeding individuals affected by a disaster in a shelter, communicating with government officials or answering phones.
